Angela is the founder of “Angel Rated” which is an independent review site where you can add and read reviews from courses, coaches, and tools that you use in your online business. “Angel Rated” launched in 2019 and during it’s first year – over 300 products and services were listed, with dozens more being added every month.

Angela chats with us today about her inspiration behind starting her business - from leaving the corporate world and beginning her journey in the online space. Angela began her career in the corporate world after she graduated with a degree in Maths and a Masters in Operational Research from Southampton University. She spent four years at British Airways before moving on to work at Vodafone for seven years. This was followed by six years leading a sustainability consultancy and a climate change charity.

It was in 2012 that Angela made the decision to leave the corporate world; establishing several online businesses, but never quite finding the work she felt born to do. During this time, she qualified as a Health coach and in 2016, founded the UK Health Coaches Association as the professional governing body for health and wellness coaching in the UK. The UKHCA is the first association of its kind in the world and is dedicated to the advancement of health coaching, and to providing support and advocacy for Health Coaches and their clients.

Angela has always been a frequent traveller and in recent years has alternated between working in the UK for an 18-month stretch before traveling for 6-months. To date, Angela and her husband Mark have visited 47 countries between them, and have launched a blog documenting their ongoing adventures. 

In 2017, while traveling and building a health coaching business, Angela identified a lack of unbiased, unedited feedback on the various tools and courses she required as a business owner. From there, the idea of creating a single trustworthy website to collate information and reviews was born.

It took two years of research, development and marketing before Angel Rated launched in late 2019. During its first year, over 300 products and services were listed, with dozens more being added every month.

Angel Rated is also home to a blog and podcast. The blog features meticulously researched guides, all personally curated by Angela, to the digital products and courses that are available. The podcast, The Angel Rated Show, shares interviews with the people behind the products and services most often used by online business owners. This provides listeners with the opportunity to hear how a founder's personal beliefs and values have influenced their business, making it ideal for anyone who wants to know more about the integrity and impact of the businesses they are buying from. 

Angela has donated 100% of Angel Rated’s year 1 income to FORCE Cancer Charity and intends to continue donating a percentage of future income each year to charities chosen by Angel Rated’s reviewers. She is also in the nascent stages of establishing a foundation to fund research into alternative approaches to everything from energy to health.

Angela says: “Over the past decade, I’ve wasted more money than I care to remember on tools that were unsuitable for my business, courses that didn’t meet my needs, and business coaches that failed to live up to what they promised. I now want to help others cut through the hype of affiliate reviews and polished testimonials, to find the perfect tool, course or person for the next stage of their growth.”
