Ep# 115: A systematic approach to money management with Jen Paterson

Today’s episode is all about money! Today I am chatting with Jen Paterson. Jen is a money coach for entrepreneurs. She works with entrepreneurs to teach them the critical, foundational money skill that it takes to run a business.

Jen explains that she has always been a “numbers” girl. She loves investments and economics and she fell in love with financial planning and today we are chatting about how that inspiration got her to where she is today in her business.

We have a conversation about what percentage to pay yourself as an entrepreneur. There are a lot of point of views out there and Jen shares with us the difference between the percentage a service provider would pay themselves versus a product-based business. Above all, Jen expresses the fact that it is so important to make sure that you are paying yourself no matter how much revenue you are bringing in.

Jen also shares her systematic approach to money management and what that means for you. She reminds us that the first step is to block off a time in your calendar each week that you are dedicated to spending time with your money. She calls this the “power hour” and explains why it is so important to do as an entrepreneur. She reminds us that money needs to be paid attention to or else it will walk all over us!

Tune in to hear all of these great tips!

IN THIS EPISODE, WE COVER:
